Recordings

Everything on your construction site is recorded locally, in high resolution, and in the cloud. ☁️

View recordings by date & time or create a clip and store it in Media Hub to access your footage.

How to Access & Use

  1. Select the Recordings Tab at the top of the dashboard.

  2. If you want to view a specific date, you can use the Calendar on the right side. 📅

Frames per second (fps) means how many frames are squeezed into one second of video. So, if a video is captured and played back at 6fps, that means each second of the video shows 6 distinct still images. Read more on this here.

  1. You can also choose the specific hour to view. 🕐

  2. Then, you can select a specific minute within that hour through the Timeline at the bottom of the viewer. Click either the backwards (<) and forward (>) buttons to view the recording frame by frame. Click the Play button to view the recording. ▶️

  1. You can choose the Playback Speed, which ranges from 0.25x - 2.5x.

Hold Shift + download button ⬇️

This command will open the image in a new window and remove the Evercam logo (watermark).

  2. If you want to Save/ Download/ Share a recording clip, you can click the Export As button and then input the title, start date, start time, and duration.

*For cameras with ExNVRs, you will see an option to select whether you want a Cloud Recording or a Local Recording clip. The default setting is Cloud recording clip.

For Projects under NDA, users with Viewer permission cannot export clips.

Minimum duration for a cloud recording clip is 3 minutes. Maximum is one hour.

A cloud recording clip takes images (1 jpeg/ 10 seconds) from the cloud and compresses them into a video. A 1-hour video will have 360 images compressed into about 15 minutes.

A local recording clip takes the video footage (8 FPS) from the device. A 1-hour video will be 1-hour in duration.

The default aspect ratio of exported videos is 16:9.

  1. Click Create Clip to finish. You will find the clip in the Media Hub.

FAQs

  1. Why do Local Clip recordings fail when I try to create one?

    • Local clip creation relies directly on the NVR/Pi. The API sends a request to the NVR (in our case, the Pi) to download the footage for the specified timestamp. If the NVR/Pi is offline, the request cannot be fulfilled, failing the local clip recording.

Request for Full Frame Rate Local Recording

To make a request, you can use Recordings to identify the time frame in which the incident occurred.

The larger the time frame, the longer it takes to retrieve the footage.

You can make a footage request by emailing support@evercam.io.

Your request should include the following information:

  • Date 📆

  • Period 🕰️

  • Details of the area of focus (i.e. marked-up image) 🔍
