PPE Detection (Beta)
π Overview
PPE Detection checks whether workers entering a danger zone/specific area on site are wearing the proper PPE Equipment, specifically the following:
Hi-vis vest π¦Ί
Hard hat π·ββοΈ
Disclaimer: Gloves detection is not yet accurate and we are working on improving this before providing it.
To review PPE results surfaced by Evercam, see Observations.
π· How Does It Work?
When a worker enters the construction site, the camera detects the worker who crosses the region of interest line and then sends an alert to ExNVR, which stores the event and time. ExNVR communicates with our backend which processes the events and runs the detection every 2 minutes. The PPE Detection model runs in the background to detect the PPE equipment requirements and returns the results to our backend for processing and storage, after which the PPE detections selected for review are sent to Observations in the Evercam Dashboard.
Please note that, as PPE Detection is still in beta, some results may not always be perfect. We're actively working to improve its accuracy and capabilities, and user feedback is critical in this process.
π§° Features
Only users who have access to the PPE cameras can see the PPE results.
PPE detections that are surfaced for review appear in Observations. See the Observations guide for the current review workflow.
We remove detections older than 7 days for GDPR compliance.

Mains Power. We avoid solar given the number of other things that must go right for a successful PPE Detection.
If nighttime detection is required, suitable lighting is needed. π‘
