Internal Components & Technical Architecture

The kit uses an industrial-grade Harwell Enclosure (Item 2) to house a complex set of networking and computing hardware.

1. Computing & Local Storage

  • Edge Processing: At the heart of the system is a Raspberry Pi 5 Computer (8GB RAM) (Item 5), which likely manages local software and video processing.

  • High-Capacity Storage: Includes a Seagate SkyHawk 8TB HDD (Item 3) secured by a specialised HDD Shield (Item 4). This allows for weeks of high-definition local recording, ensuring footage is safe even if the internet connection drops.

2. Networking & Connectivity

  • Cellular Gateway: Connectivity is provided by a RUTX11 4G Router (Item 6), connected via a DIN Rail Router Connector (Item 9).

  • External Signal: The 5-in-1 Aerial Antenna (Item 1) mounted on top of the enclosure ensures a stable 4G/LTE signal and GPS connectivity.

  • Camera Power: A PoE+ Injector (30W) (Item 11) provides both data and power to the external camera through a single cable, simplifying installation.

3. Power Management & Safety

  • Main Power Supply: Converts incoming AC to DC power using a 54W 12VDC Power Supply (Item 8).

  • Circuit Protection: Includes a 230VAC; 6A Circuit Breaker (Item 7) to protect the internal electronics from power surges or shorts.

  • Switching: An Electromagnetic Relay (Item 10) is integrated, likely for remote power cycling or triggering external hardware.


Solar Powered Standalone Kit





1. System Architecture & Solar Power Specs

The kit is engineered to provide continuous operation through a high-capacity solar array and battery backup system.

  • Energy Storage: The system utilises three 12V 105AH GEL batteries, providing significant reserve power for nighttime or low-light conditions.

  • Monitoring: Features Remote Battery Monitoring to track power health and system uptime from off-site.

2. Internal Edge-Computing & Storage

Unlike standard cameras, this unit functions as a localised server to manage data and connectivity.

  • Local High-Capacity Storage: Equipped with an 8TB SkyHawk HDD (Item 3) and a protective HDD Shield (Item 4), allowing for extensive 24/7 video retention even without a network connection.

  • Processing Power: Managed by a Raspberry Pi 5 Computer (8GB), which coordinates system tasks and edge analytics.

  • Internal Safety: Includes a 230VAC; 6A Circuit Breaker (Item 7) and a 54W 12VDC Power Supply (Item 8) to manage electrical loads and protect sensitive components.

3. Connectivity & Imaging

  • Communication Hub: A RUTX11 4G Router (Item 6) paired with a 5-in-1 Aerial Antenna (Item 1) provides high-speed cellular data, and GPS capabilities.

  • Professional Optics: Features a 4K+ Fixed-position camera with a varifocal zoom and infrared (IR) night vision for clear imaging in all lighting conditions.

  • Single-Cable Setup: A 30W PoE+ Injector (Item 11) delivers both 48V power and data to the camera via a single CAT 5e network cable.
