Requirements

A successful ๐Ÿšง Gate Report requires a discussion ofโ€”

  • The construction site layout

  • The proposed gate location & traffic plan ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ

  • The gate camera mast location

  • Unexpected obstacles (parked cars, trees or bushes) ๐ŸŒณ

  • Gate opening times โฑ๏ธ

  • Expected traffic volume, vehicle types & speed

  • Customer commitment to โ€œGate Report and its Limitationsโ€ document ๐Ÿ“‹

  • Customer Expectations of Success: What is the purpose of this report? ๐Ÿ“„

    • Overall objective

    • Accuracy requirements

      • False Positives โž•

      • False Negatives โž–

      • Do we need both In and Out or just one direction?

    • Region-specific issues

      • What region plates are expected?

      • Are there Plates on the front and rear of the vehicle? ๐Ÿชช

Operations โš™๏ธ

  • Evercam Specified Hardware ๐Ÿ“น: ANPR camera & Context Camera + Kits and Masts

  • Mains Power. We avoid solar given the number of other things that must go right for a successful Gate Report.

  • Location for the mast within a region not closer than 5m and/ or not more than 20m from the centrepoint of detection.

    • Not more than 45ยบ to the left or right of the traffic centreline, and;

    • Between 0 and 45ยบ vertical offset from the centre of detection (20 degrees is optimal). ๐Ÿ“

  • If nighttime detection is required, suitable lighting is needed. ๐Ÿ’ก

Context Camera on a Single Mast ๐Ÿ‘๏ธโ€๐Ÿ—จ๏ธ

  • Bullet Varifocal camera tends to give the best results.

  • Try to have the ANPR centreline in the centre of the Bullet FoV.

  • Height >6m with an angle of 10 to 45ยบ to the centre-top of the vehicle.

Context Camera on a Separate Mast ๐Ÿ‘๏ธโ€๐Ÿ—จ๏ธ

  • The trailer side should be visible to distinguish between trucks that look similar on the front.

  • The trailer top should be visible to show what is inside the truck. ๐Ÿšš

  • Clear & visible entrance with no occlusions (trees, cranes, people, containers, etc).

  • Between 1.5 and 2 truck lengths should fit inside the ROI.

The Gate Report Manager should approve the Field of View before finalising installation.

The Gate Report Operations team will determine the best installation location, considering the ANPR detection range requirements and the context camera positioning.
