Power BI

Power BI is a suite of business analytics tools from Microsoft that allows users to visualize and share insights from data.

Power BI for Evercam facilitates the extraction and analysis of construction site camera data, streamlining the process of gathering and visualizing insights essential for effective project management and decision-making.

How To Connect

Power BI - Desktop version

  1. On Power BI Desktop version, select Get Data on the Home menu and then select the Web option.

  1. Once the "From Web" pop-up appears, choose the option Advanced.

  1. Then, you need to fill in the following information:

  • The URL with the project ID. [The example above uses gate report data https://data.evercam.io/v2/{project_exid}/gate-report/events]

  • API ID of the user

  • API Key

Note: The API ID and API Key can be requested from support@evercam.io

  1. Then click OK. You will then see a new table containing the data from the Evercam platform.


Power BI - Online version

  1. From the Web app, access Power BI > Data factory on the left-side panel.

  1. Then, click on Dataflow Gen2.

  1. To select data from the web, click Get data from another source.

  1. Then search for "web", and then select Web API.

  1. You need to fill in the URL with authentication parameters, and then click Next.

  1. Power BI will start collecting data from Evercam and present it in a table.


PowerBI - Online Embed

  1. To embed the Live View into a Power BI report, you need to set up a workspace.

  1. Fill in the name of your workspace (for example: test video) and click Apply.

  1. Once you're in the workspace, you can create a new dashboard.

  1. Fill in a name, and click Create.

  1. Once created, you can now Add a tile to your dashboard.

  1. Choose web content and click on Next.

  1. Place a name and fill in the embed code.

Note: The embed code can be found in the Evercam project dashboard: User profile > Settings > Widgets. See “Embed Evercam in X” on how to create a widget.
