Orthomosaic to Civil 3D

Downloading the 2D Map from Dashboard đź”˝

  1. Access Drone View

    Open your Drone View in the Evercam Dashboard.



  1. Go to Media

    Click on the Media tab on the bottom right side of the screen.



  1. Download the 2D Map (Ortho)

    Locate and download the “2D Map (Ortho)” file to your computer.

  1. Launch Civil 3D

    Open Autodesk Civil 3D and load your project plan.



  1. Switch to the Correct Workspace

    Ensure that you’re working in the “Planning and Analysis” workspace.

    (You can switch workspaces from the top-right dropdown menu.)



  1. Assign a Geolocation System

    Assigning the right coordinate system ensures proper alignment.

    You can find the Geolocation systems list from here: https://epsg.io/#google_vignette

a. Navigate to Map Setup => Assign.


b. Search for and select the appropriate EPSG code based on your project's location.


  1. Insert the 2D Map (Orthomosaic)

    a. Type MAPIINSERT in the command bar and hit Enter.


b. Browse to and select your file, e.g., orthomosaic.tif.


c. In the dialog, keep all default settings and click OK.


The orthomosaic will now be placed on top of your plan correctly.



Important Note

If your plan is not placed in the correct location or the geolocation system is incorrect or missing, the orthomosaic will not align properly.
Always verify that both your plan and the inserted image are using the same coordinate reference system (CRS).
