Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is Evercam Ask AI?

It is an AI-powered assistant built into the dashboard that lets you use natural language to query footage, weather, vehicle detections, and safety incidents.

Does it know which project I am looking at?

Yes. Ask AI is context-aware and automatically knows your selected project, active camera, current page, and the current date and time.

How do I open or resize the chat panel?

  • To open: Click the Ask AI icon in the dashboard toolbar.

  • To resize: Drag any edge or corner of the panel.

  • To move: Drag the panel header to reposition it.

How long can a video clip be?

Clips can be up to 60 minutes long. If you request a longer duration, the AI will offer to create a 60-minute clip or a timelapse instead.

What is the difference between a clip and a timelapse?

  • Clips are real-time video exports of recorded footage.

  • Timelapses condense a long period of footage into a short video of 30, 60, or 90 seconds.

Can I set a custom schedule for my timelapse?

Yes. While the default is Monday–Friday (00:00–22:00), you can specify custom days and hours or choose a "working hours" preset (08:00–18:00).

Can I see weather data in Fahrenheit?

Yes. You can ask for the forecast or current conditions "in Fahrenheit" to change the units.

What kind of vehicles can Ask AI detect?

The system can identify a wide range of construction and transport vehicles, including excavators, loaders, tower cranes, concrete pumps, and various types of trucks. This requires the Gate Report/ANPR feature to be enabled for your project.

How do I find safety incidents?

You can use "Smart Search" queries such as "Find workers near cranes" or "Show hazards from last week". The results will include thumbnails with bounding boxes around the detected objects.

Can I export data to a CSV file from the chat?

No. Exporting to CSV or PDF is not supported directly within the chat; you must use the standard dashboard export features for this. However, you can export AI-generated charts as a PDF.

Can Ask AI take me to a specific page?

Yes. You can ask it to "Go to the recordings page," "Open Media Hub," or navigate to specific reports like the Site Planner or Gate Report.

What happens if I click a timestamp in the chat?

Timestamps in text responses are clickable. Clicking one will automatically navigate you to that exact moment in the recordings.

How accurate are the Copilot responses? 💯

Copilot is designed to assist in analysing data, but its responses are not always 100% accurate. We recommend validating its outputs, especially for safety reports or critical decisions.

It’s still a beta feature and may require refinement based on user feedback.

How do I provide feedback on Copilot's responses?

You can use the thumbs-up/down feedback buttons directly in the interface to rate the response. The more specific you are in your feedback, the better Copilot becomes, as this data is used to improve future results. 👍👎

Can I track progress against project plans with Copilot?

Not yet, but integrating P6 schedules to compare planned progress against observed progress is on the roadmap.

What should I do if Copilot generates incorrect or incomplete information? If you notice an error in the information provided by Copilot:

Use the thumbs-down button to mark it as incorrect. Refresh the page and try the query again if the error persists. Report persistent issues to Evercam Support.

Can Copilot analyse and detect safety issues on-site?

Yes, Copilot can help identify potential safety risks, such as workers not using PPE or unsafe site conditions. However, always cross-check its analysis with on-site safety guidelines before making any decisions. 🦺

How do I make the most effective prompts when using Copilot?

To get the best results, see the Prompt Guide.

What should I do if I encounter a bug or glitch? 🐞

If you experience an issue (e.g., non-functional links, missing data), try refreshing the page first. If the issue persists, report it to Evercam Support. Known glitches are continuously being addressed as Copilot is still in beta.

Keep in mind that Copilot is still evolving and experimental.
