Forge Viewer Features & Connection

We are using Autodesk Forge viewer for our BIM view by default.

BIM Sequencing (Timeline) is not available for BIMs using the Forge Viewer. If you wish to view a timeline within your BIM, we can host your model on iTwin.

Note: We implemented our Forge-based BIM viewer to stream (not download) large models using progressive loading. This approach initially loads only the necessary parts of the model, with other geometry parts loading dynamically as the user navigates.

Our Forge-based BIM viewer automatically caches critical model parts in the user's browser after the initial full model load. As long as you do not clear your browser cache, the viewer can quickly retrieve and display the cached model data in subsequent loads.

We can support multiple models.

Tools πŸ› οΈ

  1. Use the toolbar at the bottom of the viewer to explore the model.

  1. For easier navigation, use the Navigation cube on the upper right-hand side of the viewer.

  1. View the layers, elements and properties or change the viewer settings on the pop-ups by toggling their buttons on the lower toolbar.

  1. You can still view the Live View of the cameras by clicking on the Camera markers.

  1. Watch the video below to see a demo of the features. (Video has no sound.)

Connecting Evercam to ACC Account πŸ–‡οΈ

On Autodesk Construction Cloud

  1. Go to your Autodesk Construction Cloud account.

  2. In the Apps Section, search for Evercam.

  1. Activate the Evercam app to establish the connection immediately.

Uploading a Model from Autodesk Construction Cloud ☁️

  1. Before uploading, ensure you are connected to your ACC Account. To do this, go to the Evercam Connectors Page and connect through the ACC Connector Card.

2. Open the Upload Interface

To upload a BIM from Autodesk Construction Cloud, (1) click the Upload button on the toolbar if BIM View is already enabled, OR (2) click the Choose Model button on the info page if BIM View has not yet been enabled.

The ACC upload in BIM View should have a single source of upload tied to it, meaning, only one ACC Project should be used per Evercam Project.

The updated BIM model must maintain the same initial position as the previous model. This ensures the existing BIM (i.e. in 360) remain correct.
Any change in the model position will misalign the BIM in 360 and require additional time to fix.

Once you select the project, the list of folders and files from your ACC will appear in a dropdown menu.

  • Choose the BIM file you wish to upload.

  • Confirm your selection to start the process.

5. You will be redirected to the Sign-in page of Autodesk. After signing-in, you will once again be redirected to the Evercam platform. πŸ’»

Our 3D Services Team will receive the model and enable BIM View, if it has not yet been enabled. You will be notified via email once the BIM is ready for viewing on the platform.

If BIM View has already been enabled and you are just updating your model, you will be able to view the updated model after having clicked β€œSend”.
