FAQs

Why do I need 360? β•

360 is good for visualizing interiors, as well as exterior spaces. It's a tool that can be used for walkthroughs, snag lists, and presentations.

Which camera can I use to capture 360 images? ℹ️

We recommend using Insta360, as it is the only one we fully support for now.

Supporting every camera on the market is an unrealistic expectation for any platform. However, we have integrated the Insta360 SDK into our app, allowing seamless management of Insta360 cameras directly. If you prefer to use a different camera, you can still use Evercam by manually handling tasks like copying and downloading footage. Evercam is designed to be as hardware-independent as possible, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of setups.

Who does the capturing? πŸ‘·

360 captures will be done by the customer.

How many walkthroughs can I upload per month? πŸ’―

You can upload unlimited walkthroughs within a month.

What are the other 360 platforms I can integrate with? πŸ’»

We can integrate with Matterport, OpenSpace, and HoloBuilder, if you are already using these providers.

Can I use point cloud scans? ☁️

At the moment, we do not support LiDAR cameras and point cloud models.

How accurate is the measuring tool? πŸ“

Measurements will be very accurate if a reference measurement like the door height, can be provided along with the video/ images so we can scale the model properly.

A horizontal measurement of more than 2m long would obtain best results with the measuring tool. We require a new measurement reference each time as the project progresses.

What if I don’t have an Insta 360 camera? πŸ›οΈ

You can purchase your own online, or we can send a subcontractor on-site to do the walkthrough, and Evercam will do the rest.

What is the workflow for processing a 360 video? πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ

The customer does the walkthrough with the Insta360 camera and then uploads the videos. Our 3D Team processes the videos for 1-3 days and then notifies the client once they are available for viewing in the Dashboard.

When tagging events in 360 view, will it be uploaded into Autodesk build, or is there a report that can be emailed/generated? πŸ“ƒ

Currently, the tags are only visible in the Dashboard and cannot be synced to other software.

Reports generation is part of our roadmap.

Why is the requirement for video and not images? πŸ“Ό

To process a 360 model, we need photos captured every 0.5 seconds sequentially. We use video because splitting the video gives exactly what we need.

What can be done if there are low light levels in the site that will make it difficult to capture good 360 videos? πŸ’‘

You can use external light sources that can be attached to the camera or a hardhat that will help illuminate the area as you go through the walk.

Can I capture a 20-minute worth of continuous video? πŸ•§

Yes, you may use external batteries or batteries with a bigger capacity.

Please note that the longer the video, the larger the file size, hence the longer the processing time.
