FAQs

General

Can I use any drone, and which format should I use? 🚁

Yes, any drone will work as long as your images are geolocated (the drone has to have GPS enabled). For the format, we only use geolocated JPEGs.

We recommend these drones:

How frequent should the flights be? 🔢

This depends on how often you want the images updated.

What does the software cost cover? 💻

  • The 3D reconstruction from drone images

  • Integration of the model in the dashboard in its direct environment (geography and surrounding buildings)

  • Updates of the model for each flight

  • Access to all the functionalities (measuring, tags, compare, timeline…)

How many flights can I upload per month? ⬆️

You can upload one flight per week.

Do I need a BIM Model for Drone? 🏢

A BIM Model is not necessary to create a Drone model, but if the client wants to integrate the BIM for the compare feature, then the BIM Model should be shared.

How accurate is the measuring tool? 📏

Our measuring tool is 95% accurate. Drone works entirely detached, and no architectural drawings or BIM is needed for distances or area measuring to work.

What if we are using another provider? 🙋

Send us the model as a Textured Mesh Model (preferable to a point cloud model) and the format has to be (.obj or .las).

Is E57 supported?

No, Evercam does not support E57. The third-party viewer we use is not compatible with this format.

Why can’t some drone mapping flights be processed automatically (i.e. Skydio 2+)?

Although GPS data is technically embedded in the image files, it is saved in a non-standard part of the image metadata that prevents our engine from interpreting it correctly.
