Aconex FAQs & Troubleshooting

A. Integration Overview & Permissions

  1. What is the Evercam Aconex integration?

It links your Evercam cameras directly to Oracle Aconex, serving as a Common Data Environment (CDE). This centralises visual site data alongside your project documents, workflows, and transmittals to create a traceable, timestamped project record that supports ISO 19650-style standards.

  2. What permissions do I need in Aconex to send images from Evercam?

You must have at least Document Admin permissions (or higher, such as Project Admin or Org Admin) in your Aconex User Role Assignment. Specifically, your role must be granted permission to "Upload new documents". If you have only Basic or Basic+ access, sending images will fail.

B. Connecting Your Account

  1. How do I connect my Aconex account to Evercam?

    • In Evercam, click the arrow beside your User Name in the top navigation bar and select Settings > Connectors.

    • Locate the Aconex card and click Connect.

    • Enter your Oracle Construction and Engineering Lobby account credentials to sign in and verify your account.

    • Once verified, you will be redirected back to Evercam, and the card status will display green as Connected with your username.

  2. Does each team member need to connect their own account?

Yes. Because Aconex strictly enforces individual user permissions and audit trails, each user must connect their own Oracle Lobby credentials to ensure uploads are attributed to the correct user role.

C. Sending Images & Setting Up Progress Photos

  1. How do I send marked-up images directly to Aconex?

    • Open Live View or Recordings and capture/select an image.

    • Use the Mark-up Tool to add your notes, shapes, or callouts.

    • Click Send in the top-right toolbar and select Aconex.

    • Choose your target Aconex Project, complete the required metadata fields, and click Send.

  2. How do I set up automated Progress Photos to Aconex?

    • Go to Progress Photo > Create/Edit in Evercam.

    • Under Select Provider, choose Aconex.

    • Choose the camera and the target Aconex Project.

    • Configure your schedule (Start Time, Timezone, and active Days) and click Save.

D. File Location & Compliance

  1. Where do my photos go once sent to Aconex?

Uploaded photos are stored in your project's Document Register. In Aconex, navigate to Documents > Document Register (or Temporary Files) to find your image files listed with their upload timestamps and revision details.

  2. Can I use these images for dispute resolution or compliance?

Yes. Uploaded images are timestamped and versioned directly within Aconex's official register. In the event of a site dispute (such as pouring times or damage claims), these records provide traceable evidence, while the full context can still be verified at any time through the original video footage in your Evercam Timeline.

E. Troubleshooting & Connection Management

  1. My image upload failed or an error occurred during sending. What should I check?

  • Check User Permissions: Confirm with your Aconex Org Admin that your user role is set to at least Document Admin with the "Upload new documents" permission enabled.

  • Verify Connection: Go to Settings > Connectors and confirm the Aconex card shows Connected.

  1. How do I disconnect or switch my Aconex account?

Go to Settings > Connectors, locate the active Aconex card, and click the red Remove button in the lower-right corner of the card. You can then click Connect to authenticate with a different user account.
