05 Installation and Site Requirements
Site assessment
Confirm the following before equipment is dispatched or installed:
Required field of view and image detail
Supporting wall, pole or structure
Permanent, solar or generator power arrangement
Local mobile-network coverage and preferred carrier
Camera and power-cable routes
Safe access for installation and maintenance
Environmental and security risks
Mounting
The main control enclosure is supplied with wall- and pole-mounting assemblies. Use fixings suitable for the supporting surface, installed load and local environmental forces.
Confirm the structure can carry the system safely.
Maintain access to the enclosure, external PSU and cable connections.
Protect cables from strain, abrasion and water entry.
Complete a final security and stability check before commissioning.
Final fixing selection depends on the wall or pole construction and site-specific requirements.
Camera and network cabling
Use outdoor-rated CAT5e cable or better.
Camera-cable length of 90m.
Power and data are carried over the same Ethernet cable when using PoE.
Confirm whether the approved kit uses the onboard PoE ports or a separate injector before installation.
Power connection
With the AC supply isolated, a suitably competent person must terminate the approved PSU to the site power source. The internal DC switch is an operational control and must not be treated as a mains-isolation device.
Recommended installation sequence
Inspect the equipment and confirm the site plan.
Secure the control enclosure using the approved mounting hardware.
Connect the camera using a suitable outdoor-rated Ethernet cable.
Connect the approved PSU or Battery Box arrangement.
Complete mains termination with the supply isolated.
Power the system and verify connectivity and local recording.
Confirm the field of view with Evercam Support.
Complete security, stability and weather-sealing checks before handover.
Installation must follow the approved regional design, site risk assessment and electrical requirements.
