04 Power Options

Evercam fixed-position systems can support mains, solar, mains-assisted and generator-backed deployments. The final design depends on site conditions, system load and required autonomy.

Configuration comparison

Configuration

Typical use

Power arrangement

Continuity

Mains

Sites with reliable permanent power

110-240V AC through the approved external PSU

Internal battery supports controlled shutdown only

Solar

Remote sites without permanent power

Solar array charging the external Battery Box

Battery-backed operation

Mains-assisted

Sites requiring extended continuity

Mains plus Battery Box and AC/DC charger

Continued operation during suitable outages

Generator-backed

Temporary or remote sites

Generator charging the Battery Box

Battery-supported operation between charging periods

Mains power

110-240V AC terminated to an external AC-to-DC power supply, with 13V DC connected to the control enclosure.

Mains termination must be completed by a suitably competent person. Isolate the AC supply before connecting, disconnecting or servicing equipment.

Internal safe-shutdown battery

The battery inside the main control enclosure is intended to support controlled shutdown of recording hardware. It is not a whole-system backup and should not be described as providing continued camera operation.

Evercam Battery Box / Solar Power Add-on

The Battery Box is a separately purchased external energy-storage system. The Operations reference specifies:

  • Victron 100/20 Smart MPPT solar charge controller.

  • Victron SmartShunt battery monitor.

  • Two 105Ah LiFePO4 batteries.

  • 30A AC/DC charger for mains- or generator-assisted charging.

  • Umbilical cable to the main control box.

  • IP55 enclosure.

The reference recommends at least 600W of total solar-panel capacity. Final sizing must consider deployment location, seasonal solar yield, system load and required autonomy.

The LiFePO4 configuration replaces the older three-battery GEL design. A minimum of 600 W total solar-panel capacity is approved for public guidance.
